A most elusive prey.

It has been a long time since I have been truly excited about a new attack aircraft coming to World of Warplanes. I had my hopes crushed when the Hawker Hurricane IID finally came, changed from being a ground attack aircraft. It waited too long for the German line and was somewhat skeptical about the CAC CA-1 Wirraway.

But now, I have my hopes up, perhaps foolishly, over the prospects of the SNCAC NC. 1070, a premium tier VIII attack aircraft and perhaps, the first French plane to come to the game.

From the looks of these pictures, it does appear to be very well armed. Probably a safe guess at a two man crew (pilot and a rear gunner) although I am not seeing any bombs. Depending on which source you use, the original prototype was armed with 4x20mm cannons (2 forward, 2 rear)  with the option of 800kg of bombs. So, if that carries over into the game, I almost feel bad for anyone who drops on this plane's tail.

Powered by 2x1600hp Gnome Rhone 14R-24/25 piston engines, the real life version had a cruising speed of 526 km/h / 327 mph and a maximum speed of 578 km/h / 359 mph. Not too bad for a plane of this size, a wingspan of 20.0 m / 66 ft 7 in, a length of 10.21 m / 34 ft 6 in and a height of 4.15 m / 14 ft 7 in. Although the real 1070 had a maximum operating ceiling of 9950 m / 32650 ft, the ingame version will be adjusted according to pre-established ground attack restrictions for compressed altitude.

As of right now, this plane is in the hands of Supertesters and hasn't made any appearance on the 1.8 Common Test server, yet. Currently, it is being slated for it's first official appearance for the 1.9 testing phase, remains to be seen if players will have a chance to try it out for themselves, or not.

However, based on this pictures alone and the real life information I have been able to look at, all I can say is....Je pense que je suis en amour.
