From the notes for the 1.8 Common Test server.

I have never made it a secret that my preferred aircraft of choice, while playing World of Warplanes, has been Attack Aircraft. For the longest time, there was only one nation with these planes, the Soviet Union. Then, there was hope that a British line was coming, with the introduction of the Hawker Hurricane IID, but that was changed from an Attack Aircraft, then to a Fighter, now it's classified as a Multi-Role Fighter.

With the arrival of update 1.7, the much needed and long overdue German Attack Aircraft line was finally added to the game. Now, there was an alternative to the Russian playstyle to explore. But, the surprises didn't stop there, a event called "Challenge of the Wirraway" was added in. So, with two filled out nations and a tier III premium CAC CA-1 Wirraway starter plane for a third to come, sometime in the future.

Now, after reading through the 1.8 Common Test server notes http://worldofwarplanes.eu/news/general/public-test-18/ it seems two more nations will be picking up the GA lines.

The history of Chinese aircraft in Planes is very confusing. First, if a player logged in around Christmas/New Years of 2013, they were greeted with this scene....

Later, two more Chinese premium aircraft were added to the freshly planted tree....

Then a few more, but all of a sudden, conditions on the possibility to acquire them became very cryptic. There were announcements that planes would become available, then not. Some aircraft, like the tier VI Chinese Mosquito FB.26 Heavy Fighter appeared out of thin air, as part of a premium bundle. So, I remain a bit skeptical about the future availability of the currently tested IL-10M, the tier VIII GA.

The big surprise for me was the first possible French plane for World of Warplanes. I have been expecting this nation to come for quite some time now, but I was little shocked to see a high tiered premium making this country's debut. I was looking forward to seeing the usual suspects of the time, Bloch, Dewoitine, Moran-Delage and so forth. However, I shouldn't be too surprised with WarGaming, pulling an obscure aircraft like the SNCAC NC.1070, something most people haven't even heard of, let alone seen in pictures, as a premier plane of a nation.

Then again, it might not be. However, patch notes are one thing....

....seeing it first hand, can be quite another.
